What is an enterprise copilot?
An enterprise copilot is an AI assistant embedded in a team's tools that suggests, drafts or executes tasks while keeping the person in control of the decision.
Unlike an AI agent that runs a process autonomously, the copilot works alongside the person: it proposes drafts, completes steps and speeds up the work, but leaves the approval in human hands. It is a human-in-the-loop design by definition —see also AI agent vs chatbot.
Why it matters
The copilot is the natural way to introduce AI into tasks where human judgment remains central: it reduces repetitive work without taking the person out of control. For many organizations it is a low-risk first step before delegating complete processes to more autonomous agents.
