What is agentic AI?

Agentic AI is an approach in which AI systems plan, decide and execute actions autonomously to reach a goal, instead of only generating text.

Unlike a model that just answers a question, an agentic system sets a plan, picks the next step, uses tools and data, and chains several actions together until it completes a process. It is the basis of an AI agent and of agent orchestration, where several specialized agents collaborate under a coordinator.
